So I spent a whole lot of time last week doing motion capture. I can say that I am pretty comfortable now at using Vicon Blade. I can easily navigate through the program, even found a way to make custom buttons and custom UI layouts, which made working with Vicon Blade so much easier.
So after capturing a ton of actions, we realised that Nick's head was not straight, it was a little off from where the head joint should be. I'm kind of annoyed that I did not notice it at first. The good thing is that the problem area does not snap or move unexpectedly, it follows all the other movements correctly, just that it's a little off from where it should be. That's pretty easy to fix, I just have to translate the head joint to where it's supposed to be. I also noticed that some of the processed files have a few joints missing, but they still move correctly. I think i'll have to try using the advanced processing pipeline in Blade, instead of the basic processing pipeline, it might get me better results?
As you can see, the neck is not straight, some bones aren't there
Helped Mr Leong this morning with putting back the tripods and wires for the extra cameras that we used for last Friday's shoot.
Mr Ron came in today and also sent me a pretty cool crowd sim setup using particles. The particles "run away" when spheres hit the ground. The particles also collide and avoid each other, even through this chaos. I went ahead and tried to replicate it. Mr Ron also told me to modify the file he gave me so that 2 sets of particles run towards each other, like in a typical battlefield. So i modified the setup, I used the painting method like before, to get the 2 sets to birth parallel to each other.
