First day of FYP.
We were told to set up our blogs today. This blog will document everything i've done each day for the next 3 months.

Here are some images for various movies that have pretty huge battle or war scenes
300
Lord Of The Rings : Return Of The King
Chronicles Of Narnia : Prince Caspian
Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers
Gladiator
Star Wars Episode 2 : Attack Of The Clones
There are a lot of notable battle and war sequences especially in the Lord Of The Rings movies, more so in The Two Towers and Return Of The King.
Mr Douglas came today and showed us the storyboard for what we will be doing. Its a great battle scene between angels and demons in heaven.
Some of our friends from the 2 previous batches that also worked with Mr Douglas gave us advice on what to do and what not to do, so we would hopefully not make the same mistakes as they did.

Our group has also come to a decision on our roles for this project:
Group Leader : Ziyaad
Explosion effect : Yushi
Light effects (light rays etc) : Wei Jie
Energy effect: May
Clouds: Joyces
Crowd Sim: Ziyaad
Terrain: Wei Jie
Mocap: All of us will do this together
Painting Weights: All of us will do this together
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So looks like i'll be focusing on crowds simulation and behaviour. I looked over at Ruth's blog to see what she has done for the last project since she also did crowd simulation.
I remembered I had a technical paper on crowd simulation that I got from Siggraph Asia 2010 last year in Seoul. I looked at that too to have more understanding about crowd simulations. I also went ahead to look at other movies implementing crowd simulations such as Invictus, Lord of The Rings, Transformers and other clips.
